Chopper Board has been around since 1990's and currently it has been expanded to four outlets within Penang. All of them are located within shopping mall like Bukit Jambul Complex, Gurney Plaza, Queensbay Mall and Tesco. Among these, the first outlet is the one in Bukit Jambul Complex.
The concept of this food chain is focusing more on to provide an economical place to eat local dish with some western influence. The reason it is consider as an economical place is due to its location, where all of them are in shopping mall and it is hard to find other restaurants with comparable price at such places.

Chopper Board serves different kinds of Chinese and western cuisine, and most of them are quite common which have higher acceptance for Malaysian. Among these, their Chopper soup(风味汤) should be one of the most popular one. Especially when it first started at 1990's, most of the people are impressed by the taste of the soup which is similar to shark fin(鱼翅) and it is quite cheap.
Other than that, their Black Pepper Chicken Rice(黑胡椒鸡饭) also receive quite a lot of positive feedback from customer due to the price RM4.70 is quite cheap and it taste quite good. Some customer also loves to have their Home Made Ginseng Tea(洋参须茶) which usually comes with the set meal and serves in a cold aluminum cup.
Talking about the environment of the restaurant, it is more on traditional Chinese style decoration, with long tables, wooden stools, doors, chair and windows.
Though Chopper Board’s foods aren’t something stunning good, it is still a good place for a comforting bowl of hot, white rice with spicy dish or some chicken chop. Especially customer who just want to have some light meals, with comparable cheap price.
