Humble Beginning, an online bakery shop that gradually gaining some spot light from people around Penang and Johor Bahru. This online store started on October 1st, 2007. At 1st of September 2008, they started their Penang branch. Currently the shop is covering their business in Penang Island, Prai area and Johor Bahru.
The significant cake of this online store is their Mille Crepe, which is a French Cake. Anyway the recipe was brought back from Japan by the owner after spending around 6 months in Japan to learn it. Some people also likes to refer Mille Crepe as "layer cake". The meaning of "mille" means "a thousand" and the reason behind the name of the cake is due to they are made with exactly 20 layers of crepes with a delightful combination of fresh cream and vanilla custard between each layer.
A lot of customers love to eat Mille Crepe of Humble Beginning due to it's heavenly good taste. The cake taste soft and thin crust, sandwiched with milky cream, and the thousand layers texture feeling that melts inside their mouth brings a totally different experience.
Since the online shop only "make to order", customer can be rest assured that they will have bought the freshest, most luxurious Mille Crepe money can buy. According to Humble Beginning, they only use the finest ingredients for their indulgence. No artificial ingredients, no preservatives, no additives. Instead real vanilla pods (not the bottled extracts), real custard (not the powder + water concoction), best chocolates, best creams, best cheeses, freshest fruit, and the list goes on. Besides, everything is hand-made and hand-layered, which is a true labour of love.
Currently Humble Beginning only accept phone or online form order. Anyway they do provide delivery service that covers radius of 20km from Holiday Plaza in Johor Bahru; East Coast of the Penang Island stretching from Bayan Lepas Airport to Gurney Drive. For mainland Penang, customer can pick-up the cake at Auto World Complex.
The price of the cake starts from RM55 to RM95 depending on the flavor and size (0.9kg and 1.3kg). Overall, even though the prices are a bit on the pricey side, but it is still worth the money, due to the quality, freshness and mouth watering taste.
