Be BOLD!
WikiStreetFood encourages users to be bold when updating articles. Wikis like ours develop faster when everybody helps to fix problems, correct grammar, add facts, make sure the wording is accurate, etc. WikiStreetFood not only allows you to add, revise, and edit the article — it wants you to do it. Of course, others here will edit what you write as well. Do not take it personally. They, like all of us, just want to make WikiStreetFood as good as it can possibly be.

When to create new article?
Before creating a new article, you should make sure no other people has created the same article which describe the same food in same place. Overlapping articles would definitely lead WikiStreetFood to become messy. Prior that, editor is encouraged to make sure that there is no similar article in your current state before creating yours.
For example, if you want to share penang road char kui tiao in Penang, make sure no other people shared the same thing under the link Penang
In fact, you are welcome to update others sharing with your latest experience besides of creating another duplicate article.

Article naming
Article naming is very important in order to let other readers and editors to know what your article mainly for. Due to this requirement, WikiStreetFood has proposed an article naming standard as below to eliminate confusion and inconsistency
{Stall name/Location} {Food name}
For example if you want to share one of the famous char kui tiao in Penang, and you know that it is located in Penang road, then you can put your article name as:
Penang road Char Kui Tiao
In fact, if you know the stall name is Ah Wong, then you can name your article as:
Ah Wong Char Kui Tiao
Anyway, you can also include both info in your naming to have a more precise name:
Penang road Ah Wong Char Kui Tiao
Besides, you could also add the chinese(Other languages as well) name of the stall to better represent it as below:
Lou Wong Tauge Ayam Kuetiau (老黄芽菜鸡沙河粉)
| In summary: |
{Stall name/Location} {Food name}
{Stall name/Location} {Food name} {中文名} |
Note: Webmaster would have the rights to redirect or rename any improper naming article.
What kind of article contents are welcome?
Since WikiStreetFood emphasis on information sharing and as a street food directory platform, WikiStreetFood encourage editor to post informative article which could provide as much info as possible to reader. Editor are encourage to publish the story behind the food stall, the selling items, the taste of the food, the price, the location, the environment and others.
Anyway since WikiStreetFood is not a blogging site, we strongly discourage editor to publish their personal feeling that not relate to the food stall or food, written most of content from "I" or "me" point of view and others. Same things goes to the famous Wikipedia web site, where the editors do not add these kind of redundant info into their articles.
Other than that, copyright content/image or illegal/improper contents are of cause not allow to be published in WikiStreetFood.
