Most of the Malaysian would have the same experience of accompanying their parents to morning wet market, especially when they are still very young. The early wake up from a comfort bed, the crowded and slippery market, the bargaining noise and the friendly uncles and aunties become part of their childhood memories. Some of them are still visiting wet market frequently, but some prefer to cherish these moments inside their heart.

While talking about morning wet market, there is one thing that people will usually recall, it is the wet market food court that sells different kinds of simple breakfasts. And it is also one of the most encouraging moment to visit such food court after buying so many stuffs from the wet market.

In Chai Leng Park of Butterworth, Penang, there is a morning wet market. And of cause, there is also a wet market food court which is just located next to it. Every day early in the morning, stalls in this wet market will start their business. The food court is in long rectangular shape where people can hunt for their preferable breakfast from one end to another.

Inside this food court, there are many stalls selling different kinds of breakfast. For example noodle, Hokkien Mee, Zhu Chang Fen, dessert and many others. Taste wise, most of them are just average. Anyway there are some which able to surprise customer, for example the delicious dry noodle, which is springy and without any alkaline smell.

But other than food, the main reason people dining here are because it is convenient, cheap and unpretentious. Besides, the dining atmosphere where people can have a relaxing moment to enjoy a simple meal or chit chat with neighbors is also one of the reason.

Ordinary Hokkien Mee. Taste wise is average. No high expectation to it and of cause, no great disappointment too.

The Zhu Chang Fen is quite disappointing. It is cold and not springy. The Zhu Chang Fen itself is quite thin and rough, which taste like chewing paper.
