Chip Heng Yam Rice (大山脚芋饭) stall owner Mrs Wang cooks her fare behind a squeaky clean stall. The bright smile on the Hakka stall holder aunty makes you feel welcomed like visiting a closed friend's house. Fluffy soft rice with yam fried to a crunch that melts in the mouth, this yam rice is a secret family recipe. The salted vegetable soup is brewed from pork innards, pork bones, stewed sour plums, salted vegetables and pepper. Rice, soup and pork knuckles become a perfect combination.
