Penang:Jalan Tengah Roasted Chicken and Pork Rice

There are quite a number of nice chicken rice stalls within Penang Bayan Baru area, however if talking about the overall roasted food which includes BBQ pork or roasted pork, the Jalan Tengah roasted chicken and pork rice stall is definitely one of the famous one.
This stall is located at the ground floor of a flat beside Persiaran Mayang Pasir and opposite a mosque. Although the name of the restaurant where the stall located at is called Hong Tien(丰田), but most people recognize this stall as Jalan Tengah Sa Bi or three flavored chicken rice stall. Probably due to a lot of customers prefer to mix three different kinds of roasted meat together into one plate.
This stall sells different kind of roasted meat, for example the ordinary roasted chicken, roasted pork and BBQ pork. Besides, they also sell steamed chicken and Chinese sausage. Since most of the customer prefer to taste small portion of different kind of meats, they usually prefer to mix multiple dishes together. All these dishes are home-made instead of buying from others, in order to guarantee the quality and freshness of the meat. Other than these dishes, quite a lot of customer love to order a plate of Assam fish from the economic rice stall in that same restaurant, as an appetizer or side dish.
Overall the taste of the dishes here are slightly above average, the meat is quite tender and smooth. It is also not a bad place for lunch, to have your meal at an open air area, with a lot of big and shaded trees.
