If talking about the trademark of Penang local food, the New Gurney Drive food court center (新湾仔角) is definitely one of it. At here, visitor can find around hundreds of food stall which is selling different kind of Penang local foods. The food court is so crowded until it is very hard to find a parking lot for your car and even find a table in this food court. Anyway, the fact is people still loves to come here, because of the food.
Within this food court, there are a few food stalls which are very popular for example the fried oyster (蚝煎), fried chicken , lok lok (乐乐), Char Kway Teow (炒粿条), Apong and many more. It is not surprise that customer will need to queue for around half an hour in front of some of these stalls.
While having dinner at here, some times they might have some baggers comes to approach you for some tips, but usually local people will just ignore them. Overall, this place is good to try and taste many different kinds of Penang local foods, the outdoor environment is quite relaxing and comfort. Of cause, things which comes with pros will always come with cons, where customer should be expected to have more patient in looking for a parking, a table and queue for the food.
