Old House Cafe(老房子) is a newly open Chinese cuisine restaurant at Kimberly Street, Penang, near the famous Kimberley Street Duck Kway Chap (鸭肉粿汁). The owner is owning Bee Chin Heong business too. Anyway he is profession in cooking Teochew style cuisine and previously he runs the restaurant business in a pink color residential shop at a far end corner coffee shop.
While comparing Old House Cafe(老房子) with its previous restaurant, Old House Cafe(老房子) has a lot of decorations and designs that perfectly match it's name, which brings feeling of dining in an "ancient" China restaurant. The old style wooden door and internal wooden tables, different antique designs successfully bring this kind of feeling to customer. Although the interior doesn't emphasis on modern element, it's still a clean, well-decorated Chinese-style restaurant that customer be proud to bring any guest to.
Although it is a newly open restaurant, newspaper did features some delight of this cafe. Some of the popular dishes are braised meat with rice(卤肉饭), fried Koay Teow(炒粿条), Har Mee(虾面) and others. Although the dishes here are more like hawker style food, but the price is comparable to commercialized cafe, for example Old Town White Coffee or Apex Coffee. Other than that, the restaurant also serves various kind of vegetarian dishes.

Overall, Old House Cafe(老房子) offers quite unique design and environment which reminds customer of the old style interior that we used to see in the movies. Food wise, it is more towards hawker style but pricing is more on cafe level. Anyway by looking at so many customers visiting this restaurant, it still proven that their idea is quite popular.
