Penang:Porridge Stall (Bayan Baru Food Court)

Within Bayan Baru Food Court, there are many food stalls and a couple of stalls which sell porridge. The porridge stall mentioned in this article is one of them, which is an ordinary porridge stall that customer can expect a hot bowl of porridge but of cause not with high expectation. It is so common that until the stall owner doesn't name the stall, with just a big sign "Porridge" or "粥" on top of this stall.
This little stall runs by an old couple and they sells different kind of porridge for example preserved egg porridge(皮蛋粥), dry oyster porridge(蚝干粥), chitterlings porridge(猪肠粥), chicken porridge and fish porridge. They also serves some special porridge like healthy traditional herb porridge(滋粥), fish tea peanut porridge(茶鱼花生粥) and Hong Kong Teng Zai porridge(艇仔粥). Other than porridge, the stall also serves some side dishes like yam cake(芋头糕) and glutinous rice chicken(糯米鸡).
Although it is just a simple stall without extremely famous food, but it still able to serve the purpose when customer are just looking for a bowl of hot porridge.
