Penang:Seng Seong Restaurant
From Malaysia - Wiki Street Food
Within Penang Sungai Nibong area, there are a few ordinary Chinese Zhu Cha restaurants, for example Foo Hiang Seafood(富香海鲜饭档), Sri Nibong Seafood Corner(理旺海鲜饭店), Yipin Restaurant(亿品餐厅) and others. Some of them are quite nice, some are just average. Seng Seong Restaurant(成双海鲜煮炒) probably is one of them which falls into the second category.
This Chinese Zhu Cha stall is located at the shop lot which is same row with Sungai Nibong Public Bank. Every Wednesday night, there will have a night market in front of the shop. Talking about the restaurant itself, it is quite simple and crude. In fact, the kitchen is in front of the shop. Tables and chairs are placed at the side lane of the restaurant as well. Customer can choose either to have their meal outside or inside the restaurant.
Food wise, the taste is quite disappointed, at least not impressive. It is very obvious that the chef here is using too much of seasoning in preparing the dishes, which makes them more on the salty or heavy side. The vegetables is also quite harsh and not tasty.
Overall, Seng Seong Restaurant(成双海鲜煮炒) is an ordinary Chinese Zhu Cha which able to provide average or even slightly below average quality of foods. The price here is also not cheap, which further reduce the attractiveness of this restaurant.
