Starview Restaurant(仙景楼饭店) is one of the most famous Penang Chinese cuisine restaurant that started their business since 1979. Although there are many other restaurants rise and fall, but Starview Restaurant able to remains Penang's favorite after all these years. The restaurant used to be at the Burmah Road for ages before moving over to their new location at New World Park on 8th October 2008. There is another branch at Prai too.

Starview Restaurant cater for wedding package, steamboat, 8-course meal and ala carte. The restaurant is fully booked most of the time and is one of the first choice for Penang locals to have their wedding dinner here. Anyway, it is pretty ironic that when the restaurant first started out, there wasn't much business and it was almost closed down. One day, the kitchen prepared fish steamboat(魚鍋) for staff consumption and a walk-in customer happened to see the steamboat. So, he decided to give it a try. The steamboat became an immediate hit with the customer and the rest is history. Even until now, fish steamboat is still one of the significant dish of the restaurant.

While talking about the dining environment, Starview Restaurant has tried their very best to preserve the decorations and settings to make the new place as familiar as possible compared to the old place. The mahjong tiles on the pillars were one of the decorative items brought over from the old place and this decoration so far was only available to Starview Restaurant among the Penang restaurants. Due to this special decoration, some people might called it as Ma Jiok Keng in Hokkien.

Since the restaurant has been operating for so many years and their chefs are quite creative in inventing new dishes, there are quite a lot of significant dishes introduced by Starview Restaurant. For example the Peking Duck ala Starview, fish hotpot(Hu Lor), roasted chicken with almond, shark fin soup, salad prawns, braised mutton in claypot and many others. Due to personal preference, it is almost impossible to have a dish that every people likes it. But overall, Starview Restaurant food taste is great.
