Perak:First Kwong Chow Roasted Pork Rice (广州茶室烧腊饭)

Ipoh most famous roasted pork rice stall probably is the one located in First Garden, Kwong Chow restaurant (第一花园广州茶室). This stall is quite special as it doesn't start it's business at regular breakfast or lunch time. Instead it starts the business at around 3pm daily, when most people already taken their lunch. Anyway this doesn't has any impact to their business, as they manage to sell almost everything in their stall after around two hours.

This stall sells great varieties of roasted pork products, for example Regular flavor roasted pork(烧肉), Char Siu(叉烧), Golden coin meat(金钱肉), roasted sausage(腊肠) and others. Besides, they also sell other side dishes like halogen egg(卤蛋), halogen Tao Fu(卤豆腐), halogen intestinal(卤肠).

Among these foods, the most popular is still their regular flavor roasted pork(烧肉). Almost everyone in the long queue in front of the stall will definitely order this home-made roasted pork. The skin of the roasted pork is amazingly crispy, probably due to it's freshness. The texture of the meat is still juicy and fresh, which is very different compare to ordinary roasted pork that is dry and tough. By having it together with a plate of white rice that dripped with some special sauce becomes a perfect companion. Some customer even prefer to have the roasted pork by itself, dipped with some special chili sauce.

Other than regular flavor roasted pork, the other dishes are very popular as well. Basically almost everything will sold out eventually. Most of the customer love to mix a few kinds of roasted pork so that they can try more varieties. The price is reasonable, which is around RM3 to RM4 or even more, depends on what is the customer's order. Same as many roasted pork stall, this stall provides take away or dine in service to customer. Anyway it is being handled by different staff of the stall. For those who prefer to take away can directly place their order to staff at the right hand side of the stall. While for those who prefer to dine in, they can place their order to the staff at the left hand side of the stall.

Overall, First Kwong Chow Roasted Pork Rice (第一花园广州茶室烧腊饭) is definitely a must visit stall for roasted dish lover due to the food taste, freshness and average price.
