Fu Tien Vegetarian Restaurant(福田素食馆) is one of the very famous air-conditioning restaurant within Ipoh. The restaurant is located in Medan Ipoh Bistari, within the vicinity of Tesco and Kinta City Shopping Center in Ipoh Garden East.
This restaurant is famous not only because of their mouth watering vegetarian food, but also their effort in introducing new vegetarian concept to Malaysian. The significant dishes here are their various kinds of vegetarian sushi, including Bento set, different kinds of Japanese roll, hand rool and others. The idea of having Japanese cuisine element into vegetarian food initially was started in Taiwan and eventually bring into Ipoh by Fu Tien Vegetarian Restaurant.
Among these Japanese style vegetarian food, one of the best-sellers in this restaurant should be the Golden Dragon, which is a special Japanese roll with vinegared rice rolls filled with carrots, kampyo, and crunchy flakes topped with fresh, tangy and sweet mangoes. Other than this, the Sakura roll is another highly recommended dish, which filled with red cabbage, mangoes, 'abalone' and turnips. The resemblance to the non-vegetarian sushi is uncanny-like, the vegetarian abalone strips mimicking the real stuff quite well.

Besides of these Japanese vegetarian cuisine, the restaurant also serves various vegetarian Zhu Cha, for example spicy Petai prawn, stir-fried spicy sweet potato leaves and many others. Of cause, all vegetarian. The price of Zhu Cha dishes here is quite cheap if compare to other vegetarian restaurant and the taste is great. Their Bento set is consider very cheap with the price range from RM3.70 to RM5.70.
Overall, Fu Tien Vegetarian Restaurant is a highly recommended vegetarian restaurant within Ipoh which worth to visit again and again. The price is cheap, environment is good with air-conditioning and the food is special and tasty.
