Perak:Kampai Japanese Restaurant
From Malaysia - Wiki Street Food
Kampai Japanese Restaurant(干杯日本料理) probably is the first Japanese restaurant within Ipoh. The restaurant was established back in the early 90s when Japanese food was still relatively new to Ipoh resident. Although nowadays, many Japanese restaurants are sprouting around Ipoh, this restaurant is still doing pretty well and undergone some refurbishment.
Although the external decoration of the restaurant seems quite classy, the interior is a bit messy. For example the sushi bar is piled up with tea pots, plates, glasses and many things else. Besides the interior decoration doesn't contain much Japanese element, it looks more like a chinese Zhu Cha restaurant with air-cone.

While talking about the food here, Kampai Japanese Restaurant(干杯日本料理) offers quite a lot of varieties. Consists of chicken, salmon, beef, Sanma, Tempura, Unagi, Ramen, Japanese roasted Sotong and many others. The taste of the food here is quite nice especially the Japanese set meal. Anyway there are some dishes which is a bit disappointing, for example the Sanma dish. Overall, the prices of dishes here is average.
Although Kampai Japanese Restaurant(干杯日本料理) has been operating for so many years and is one of the pioneer of Ipoh Japanese restaurant, the aggressive competition in Japanese food and beverage industry in Ipoh nowadays might threaten its business.
